Jefferson Township Near Dayton Ohio
Jefferson Township is located just northeast of the city of Dayton Ohio and is considered a suburb of Dayton. It is one of nine townships in Montgomery County Ohio. It is located in the central area of the county. There are many smaller cities located within the Jefferson Township boundaries including Moraine in the eastern portion West Carrollton in the southeastern portion and Drexel in the northeast. New Chicago is officially unincorporated but it is also located in the eastern portion of the township.

About 79% of people own their homes. Jefferson Township offers a rural and relaxed feel as compared to the more densely urban area of Dayton.

The one just outside of Dayton near Montgomery was once part of the German Township and became its own Township on June 10 of 1805. The area thrived in commerce with three gristmill mills.
