Easy Home Improvements That Add Value

You'd be surprised what a few little inexpensive upgrades could add to the value of your home.

I'm not talking about spending thousands of dollars to improve your home, but a few little upgrades can really add a lot of value to your home, especially if you're selling or need an appraisal. Here are a few easy home improvements that really add value to your home.

#1. A fresh coat of paint

This is probably one of the most inexpensive upgrades you can make. You want to be neutral and attractive to most buyers so painting your kitchen bright red or the kid's room hot pink, is probably not the best idea. A neutral tan, beige, or grow is often the perfect neutral color.

#2. Manicured landscaping

Again, you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on new landscaping but simply mow the lawn, trimming the grass, shape any shrubs or bushes and trim trees away from the siding of the house. A little bit of a manicure job on the front lawn can really work wonders and make things look/.

#3. Unique storage space.

Buyers want to make sure that they have enough room for all of their own belongings so find unique storage options, making the home look like it's got plenty of space by removing a third of the items in pantries, closets, and cupboards can really make the entire house look more spacious and big.

#4.Cosmetic kitchen fixes

This is where things can get expensive depending on the age and condition of your kitchen. If your kitchen hasn't seen an upgrade since the 1970s, it will be time to put a little bit of money into this room. However, simply painting the cabinets can be an inexpensive way to completely change the look of the entire room. If you have the money for a larger overhaul, granite counters, stainless appliances, and new floors will definitely make a world of difference.

#5. Cleaning

To be surprised what a good deep cleaning does for a house. If it's been a while since you've cleared the kitchen counters off, really done a number on the bathrooms, and clean the tracks in windows and sliding doors, it may be time for a good, heavy duty cleaning.
